It was difficult and a bit scary as I stepped into the virtual world of blogging. I took some time, but I made it! I have decieded that I will need to obtain an on-line connection if I am going to survive this semester. I cannot learn the skills without access to the tools.
My next step is to research my options of connecting on-line. McDonald's staff is great and the lake view an added benefit (car racing on ice today) however I always feel like I have over stayed my welcome after 3 or 4 hours.
Makwa's journey is an on-line documentation of an urban Native taking her first steps into a new environment. The virtual environment. Reactions to techology and social interactions. Beware: humor, Ojibwe language and sarcasism found in this blog maybe offensive to some individuals. No harm or hurt feelings are intented. Read at your own risk.
Boozhoo Makwa. What a nice start to your Blog :) Hopefully you can find some good additional places to connect to ...but I guess as long as you keep ordering the Chicken McNuggets you are good to go?
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the part about not wanting to offend anyone. That is one of the hardest parts of e-communication - we miss so many communication cues (facial expressions, vocal inflection, body language....) that sometimes something very innocent can seem offensive. I always try to assume that if there is way to read a post "non-offensively" to go that route. Thank you for drawing our attention to this very early on :) For my part, I will use lots of happy faces :) :) :) :) Miigwech.
Yes i agree being kind of reluctant to enter the virtual world, but it seems that you are doing a wonderful job....I like your picture of your moccassin here.....keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteJodell,

Just think if you get there before 10:30 you can have breakfast. The breakfast burritos are my favorite
